Here  I am laying down vocals in the studio for my record, “Motel”. Man, it is HARD! I like my voice when I’m playing live – it will usually do the job for me. But when I’m laying down for posterity – yuck! Who AM i?

I’ve discovered that I can’t really lay down believable vocals unless I’m 100% sure of what I’m saying. I need to believe it to convey real emotions, and that’s what hits people. And I can’t be 100% sure of what I’m saying or feeling unless I really get in touch with who Julia is. So how do i feel about this situation? What do I mean by “Gonna hide in a motel”? What’s my motivation? Answer: I DON’T KNOW, I JUST LIKED THE WAY IT SOUNDED!
