This is where Julia gets to play some rock ‘n roll. Motown, soul, pop classics from the 60s and 70s, roots, and stomping originals – all, and much more, is fair game when the Ready Boys play. You never know what song Julia will pull out from her bottomless catalog, riffing the chords to find the key, then turning to the guys with a “Hey, let’s do…!” and then “Ok. Ready, boys?”
The Ready Boys are Lynn Kasdorf (bass) and Jim Hayden (drums). Lynn Kasdorf is best known around town for his stellar pedal steel playing in bands such as the Hula Monsters, Arty Hill, and Kiti Gartner & the Deceits. But he is happy to lay down the fatty bottom for the rest of the Readies to stomp on. Plus there are times when he steps over to the pedal steel for us, too!
Jim Hayden is the rockabilly drum king around these parts. Also a one-time member of One Horse Town, Jim, Lynn, and Julia share a deep musical sensibility that goes way back. Just as julia spent time learning old Blind Faith tunes note for note, jim got down the iconic beats for every song off the Derek & the Dominoes record. Jim plays with several Baltimore bands, including the Midnight Shovelers.
